2027 Ford Bronco Redesign and Update Plan

Exterior & Interior

The Ford Bronco’s exterior and interior are both rugged and retro-inspired, which makes for a fantastic combo. Overall, it’s one of the most unique cabins out there, but the versions that get an extra splash of color inside are really amazing.

There are rubber-lined grips to help you climb on (and stay put); buttons with rubber encasings; auxiliary switches mounted on the roof; a lockable center console bin; MOLLE strap connectors on the front seatbacks; and storage containers for the roof panels and entryways with Tetris-style instructions for arranging them in the cargo area.

The most noteworthy of the many modern comforts available are those connected to Ford’s newest infotainment system, Sync 4, which is now standard in all Broncos and has a 12-inch touchscreen. Although we still prefer the Jeep Wrangler’s Uconnect system, Sync 4 is a nice and practical substitute. However, we are not interested in the computerized instrument cluster.

The most bothersome feature is the tachometer, a vertical bar graph that displays your revolutions per minute divided by 1,000. On the left side is a digital speedometer that looks like an analog one. In an automatic Bronco, this wouldn’t be an issue, but manually selecting gears is mentally exhausting, and convertibles sometimes have distorted screens in high sunlight. Despite being digital, its design cannot be changed. Fortunately, the gauges on the Bronco Raptor are more conventional and include a fully digital display.

The most obvious defect of the Bronco’s cabin is the low caliber of the materials employed. The cargo area plastics in our low-mileage test Bronco were already very rough, and the remaining plastics are stiff and seem to be readily scratched. This will most likely be a bigger problem with the more costly Bronco variants.

Although the Bronco’s Land Rover quality was below our expectations, it is still inferior to that of a Wrangler or even a 4Runner. It’s also important to remember that the optional fabric top and plastic windows don’t always look as nice as those on the Wrangler. 2027 Ford Bronco Release Date

2027 Ford Bronco Specs

Engine & Performance

The standard 2.3-liter inline-four engine provides 275 horsepower and 315 pound-feet of torque to power the car. Although it’s technically only a six-speed with a crawler gear, the usual gearbox is a seven-speed manual. It has a crawl ratio of 94.75:1, which is the narrowest axle ratio possible. However, depending on the optional axle, the more expensive 10-speed automatic transmission may achieve a crawl ratio of 67.8:1.

EPA fuel efficiency figures for 2027 were not available at the time of writing, but they will be included in this section. They are quite unlikely to change much from the statistics from the previous year. Regardless of transmission, the 2.3-liter engine gets the same fuel efficiency of 20 mpg in the city, 21 mpg on the interstate, and 20 mpg overall.

However, your total fuel efficiency will drop significantly to 17–18 mpg if you opt for the thick all-terrain tires or the Sasquatch package, which is standard on the Black Diamond, Badlands, and Wildtrak trim levels. We drove a Black Diamond for 258 miles, mostly on highways, and managed to get 20 mpg with a manual transmission.

The 2.7-liter turbo V6 produces 315 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is a necessary for the V6. Fuel efficiency drops to 17 or 18 mpg when using fat tires, while it stays at 20 mpg when using standard tires. Yes, you read correctly: the V6 and the four-banger achieve about the same fuel economy.

Four-wheel drive is standard on all Broncos, however Ford, like Jeep, offers several grades. The basic system includes an electronic two-speed shift-on-the-fly transmission case with a low ratio of 2.72:1, and an optional 4A mode that manually transitions between 2H and 4H as needed. AdvanTEK devices are standard on a Dana 44 rear differential, while Spaulding Performa-TraK electrically locking systems are an optional feature. Dana is the manufacturer of the differentials.

Proceed to the Bronco Raptor area. Along with a 67.7:1 crawl ratio, a 3.0-gallon turbocharged V6 engine that generates 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, locking front and rear differentials, a 10-speed automated transmission, and more.

The estimated time from 0 to 60 mph is about 6 seconds; while this is quick, it won’t wow anyone. You will earn 15 mpg in the city, 16 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg total while driving in combination. We were able to get about 16 mpg during the week-long test, and an extra 18 mpg on a 280-mile highway trip. 2027 Ford Bronco Release Date

2027 Ford Bronco Safety Features

All 2027 Ford Broncos come equipped with automatic emergency braking, front collision warning, and pedestrian recognition as standard. Additionally, side curtain airbags come standard, which is normal for an SUV but uncommon for a convertible. Additionally, the side mirrors on these are fixed to the body, in contrast to the Wrangler’s removable front doors.

Most trim levels come with the Co-Pilot360 package, which includes blind-spot and front cross-traffic warning systems, lane-keeping assistance, and other features. The High/Lux package includes adaptive cruise control on the Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Heritage, and Raptor.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Bronco five stars for frontal and side crash protection. It’s already impressive with a four-star rollover score. The Insurance Corporation for Highway Safety awarded it the highest possible grade of “Good” for all of its crash tests. Its front accident prevention system came in second for events involving both cars and pedestrians. Its “Marginal” headlight score prevented it from being chosen as a Best Safety Pick.

2027 Ford Bronco Release Date & Price

Because of dealer markups, Bronco prices, especially those of the Raptor, are sometimes exaggerated, so you should be skeptical of these figures. The ridiculously high destination tax of $1,895, which is required and applied to all prices below, is not included in the basic, stated MSRP.

Here are some details on the subsequent trim levels. Both body styles are available on the same trim levels, with the exception of the Raptor and Everglades, which only have four doors. Not surprisingly, the base model is the vintage, streamlined Bronco. You have more options and features with the Big Bend. Although it has more off-road-oriented features, the Black Diamond is similar in terms of comfort and convenience.

A picture of the Heritage Edition, a limited-edition model that expands upon the Big Bend, may be found below. It has the Sasquatch packaging, which is described in more detail below, and a unique, retro-inspired design. The Outer Banks retains a normal mechanical structure, but with the addition of more road-oriented and relatively extravagant equipment. Even though the Badlands is the group’s most severe rock-crawler, it nonetheless gets plenty of creature amenities.

The Wildtrak’s off-road trajectory is similar to that of a quicker desert runner with a standard V6 engine, even though they share many of the same attributes. The new Bronco Raptor is a fierce desert runner with even more power and a redesigned body and chassis.

In short, an Everglades is a Black Diamond with some unique features and a Sasquatch package added to its appearance. Most non-Raptor trim versions come with a 4.7:1 ultimate driving ratio, electronic-locking front and rear axles, 17-inch aluminum wheels (beadlock capable), 35-inch tires, a high-clearance suspension, fender flares, and the Sasquatch package.
